The cricket schedule for the 2026 Asian Games has been released. India are the defending champions in both men’s and women’s cricket. Due to which the men and women teams will directly play the match in the quarter finals. The BCCI has already announced the men’s and women’s squads for the Asian Games 2026.
The schedule of men’s and women’s Asian Games matches has been revealed. Both the men’s and women’s matches will be played in the T20 format. The women’s cricket tournament will run from September 17 to September 22. The men’s cricket competition will begin on September 24 and the final will be held on October 1.
In the men’s category, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have entered the quarterfinals directly. However, the remaining four teams are yet to be announced. The remaining four spots will be decided through qualifying rounds. Group A includes Afghanistan, Japan and Nepal, while Group B includes Hong Kong, China, Malaysia and Oman. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals and face the seeded teams. This means that India and Pakistan can play only one match against each other, either in the semi-finals or the final.
