Punjab Congress Holds Strong Protest Against Rising Sugar Prices
Water Cannons On Congress Members Marching Towards Governor House

Punjab Congress led by President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring held a protest against the central government in Chandigarh over rising inflation and rising prices of kitchen items including sugar. As soon as the Congress leaders started marching towards Governor House, Chandigarh Police stopped them by erecting barricades. To prevent the protesters from moving forward, the police used water cannons and detained several Congress leaders and workers.
Meanwhile, when the Congress leaders and workers tried to move towards Governor House. The police first detained Raja Warring. However, the crowd refused to back down. As a result, the police used water cannons to stop the protesters, later detaining several of them.
The Congress had made full preparations for this protest, in which several former ministers and MLAs participated. Meanwhile, former ministers Balbir Singh Sidhu and Kuljit Singh Nagra, a large number of Youth Congress leaders were present. The police were also fully prepared and deployed for the protest. Barricades were already put up at the spot, and buses were arranged to immediately detain the protesters if they tried to move forward.
