CM Saini Meets PM Modi; Discussions Held On Various State Issues
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at ‘Seva Tirth’ in Delhi, following the conclusion of the assembly session. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the state’s development, the new industrial policy, investments, and other significant matters. Speaking to reporters in Delhi after the meeting, the CM stated that they had a detailed discussion on Haryana’s new industrial policy, new investments in the state, and various other topics, and that he received guidance from the Prime Minister.
The CM noted that investment proposals worth approximately ₹1.10 lakh crore were received on the very day the new industrial policy was launched; projects worth around ₹25,000 crore from these have already materialized on the ground. Regarding the MoUs worth ₹4,500 crore signed during the visit to Japan, projects worth ₹2,500 crore have already commenced. Additionally, MoUs worth approximately ₹66,000 crore were signed during a meeting with industrialists in Mumbai.
Preparations To Prevent Waterlogging In Gurugram
The CM stated that the government is working at multiple levels to tackle the issue of waterlogging in Gurugram. Water harvesting wells have been constructed at most of the 99 identified waterlogging-prone locations, facilitating the recharge of groundwater with approximately 13,000 metric liters of water. For the first time, the de-silting of drains is being carried out under camera surveillance. Check dams have been built in the Aravalli region, and 74 old ponds and water bodies have been restored and organized.
Survey Being Conducted By A Japanese Company
The Chief Minister informed that a survey of Gurugram’s drainage system is being conducted by the Japanese company Nippon Koei. Based on this survey, a plan is being formulated to channel water from low-lying areas to the Yamuna River via Nuh. Furthermore, 100 new rainwater harvesting structures will be constructed in collaboration with IIT Delhi, with the aim of recharging groundwater with 250 to 300 million liters (25 to 30 crore liters) of water by the next monsoon. Commenting on the Congress party’s protest and walkout, the Chief Minister stated that the opposition lacks any real issues. He also condemned the attempt to silence a Dalit-Sikh MLA who was raising the issue of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
