Expansion Of PNG In Chandigarh: The Hassle Of Cylinder Booking And Refills To End
A Superior Alternative Amidst The LPG Crisis

In several sectors across the city, the hassle of booking or refilling gas cylinders is now coming to an end. Amidst the ongoing LPG crisis, Piped Natural Gas (PNG) has emerged as a superior and cost effective alternative. The administration is also actively expanding the PNG network.
PNG facilities are now fully operational in Sectors 32 to 38, 40, 42 to 44, 46, and 48 to 51. In Sectors 10, 11, 17, 22, 26, 28, 30, 41, 47, Manimajra, and Industrial Areas Phase-1 and Phase-2, this facility is currently available on a partial basis.
Residents in areas that are fully covered by the network have been urged to adopt PNG promptly, while residents in other areas may contact the service provider to inquire about connection availability. The administration has highlighted the numerous benefits of PNG.
It ensures a continuous supply of gas via pipelines, thereby eliminating the need for cylinder booking or refills. It is considered safer than LPG, as it is lighter than air and disperses rapidly in the event of a leak, thereby significantly reducing the risk of fire.
Furthermore, PNG proves to be cost effective in the long run and offers a billing system based on actual consumption. The administration has also clarified that, in accordance with new directives from the Government of India, the supply of domestic LPG will be discontinued three months after the issuance of the official notification in those areas where the PNG network has been fully established.
Consequently, residents are advised to obtain a PNG connection in a timely manner to avoid any potential inconvenience. For new connections or further information, citizens may contact the customer care helpline at 1800-233-55666. The administration has appealed to citizens to extend their cooperation in adopting this safe and eco friendly energy system.
