PM Modi Receives Uzbekistan’s Highest Honor
Bilateral Meeting Discusses Several Important Issues, Uranium Supply Also Discussed
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with Uzbekistan’s highest honor. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented this supreme award to PM Modi at a ceremony.
PM Modi, who is on a visit to Uzbekistan, was honored with his country’s highest state honor ‘Oli Darazly Doslyk’ by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Sunday. This word in the Uzbek language means high-level friendship. This is the 36th international honor received by PM Modi.
Accepting the award, the PM said, “I feel honored to receive the ‘Oli Darazly Doslyk’ order. I dedicate it to the unbreakable ties between India and Uzbekistan.”
Let us tell you that earlier on Sunday, a bilateral meeting was held in Tashkent with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During this, talks were held between India and Uzbekistan on the supply of uranium. There have been strong indications on this between the two countries.
In the talks between the two leaders, emphasis was also placed on strengthening bilateral economic cooperation, technology, energy, trade and strategic partnership. During this, it was announced to move forward towards giving the status of comprehensive strategic partnership to the relations between India and Uzbekistan.
PM Modi said, “We will constitute a Coordination Council at the level of Foreign Ministers to guide all aspects of mutual cooperation. We will take our Joint Commission from the level of Secretary to the level of Ministers. Both sides will jointly organize a business summit in which business leaders of both countries will participate. We will make a long-term arrangement for the supply of uranium. Today, we are making three sister-city and sister-state arrangements. We should make a roadmap to fully realize their potential. Mega-projects like ‘New Tashkent’ are going on in your country, in India we have built GIFT City in Gujarat. We will be happy to welcome a delegation from you here who can study the use of technology.”
The President of Uzbekistan said, “Under your leadership, India is making progress in all fields. As your close friend, we are very happy to see all these achievements.”
