More Women In Haryana To Benefit; Government Allocates ₹6,500 Crore In The Second Budget.
The Haryana government has decided to expand the scope of the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that women with an annual family income of up to ₹1.80 lakh will soon be included in the scheme. A new registration portal will be launched shortly for this purpose. Under the scheme, eligible women receive financial assistance of ₹2,100 per month.
The Chief Minister clarified that no woman registering for or availing the benefits of the Lado Lakshmi Yojana would be deprived of benefits from any other government scheme.
He noted that there is a misconception spreading among women that registering for this scheme would lead to the discontinuation of other pensions or government assistance, which is not the case; benefits from other schemes will continue as before.
Path Cleared For More Women To Join The Scheme
Initially, the Haryana government had set the maximum annual family income limit for the scheme at ₹1 lakh. This was later raised to ₹1.40 lakh. Now, it is being increased to ₹1.80 lakh, paving the way for a large number of additional women to join the scheme.
According to the Chief Minister, the pledge to provide ₹2,100 in monthly financial assistance to women from poor families was among the 217 promises made before the elections.
In the first budget, the government allocated ₹5,000 crore for this initiative and began providing assistance to women from families with an annual income of up to ₹1 lakh.
So far, over ₹2,000 crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of approximately 10 lakh women. The government has allocated ₹6,500 crore for the scheme in the second budget.

The Chief Minister stated that the objective of the scheme is not merely to provide financial aid but to make women financially self-reliant and strengthen their role in the family’s financial decision-making.
Raising the income limit will bring more women from lower-income groups directly under the ambit of this financial assistance.
