Holi, the festival of colors, was celebrated with joy, enthusiasm, and harmony across the country on Falgun Purnima. From early morning, temples were filled with prayers, streets were filled with gulal, and songs and music resonated at the Chaupals. People from cities to villages were seen drenched in colors. In many places, the administration made special arrangements to maintain peace and law and order, ensuring a harmonious festival.
Tight Arrangements For Colors, Devotion, And Security In Delhi
Devotees in the national capital began Holi by offering prayers at the Kalkaji Temple. From the young to the elderly, everyone in Delhi displayed tremendous enthusiasm for Holi. Strict security arrangements were made in various areas, including Paschim Vihar. Police Commissioner Satish Golcha visited the spot to review the preparations and boost the morale of the personnel on duty. This year, liquor shops remained open in Delhi on Holi. Crowds were seen outside shops in many places, including Mahipalpur. Some locals, citing old times, said that shops used to remain closed on Holi, but this time the arrangements were different.
Tradition And Excitement In Uttar Pradesh
People from India and abroad enjoyed dance and music amidst colors on the ghats of the religious city of Varanasi. The entire region was immersed in the celebration amid tight security. Meanwhile, in Jaunpur, youth in both urban and rural areas played with colors with enthusiasm. In many places, young people celebrated in traditional ways, while police patrolled. Meanwhile, in Bachgaon, Mathura, people celebrated “Chappal Maar Holi” with great enthusiasm, where the play of colors along with traditional rituals was the center of attraction.
Different Colors, Different Styles Of The Country
People in different parts of the country celebrated Holi in their own unique ways. In Mehsana, Gujarat, people celebrated Holi in a special way by throwing vegetables at each other. At the same time, thousands of domestic and foreign tourists were seen playing with colors during the International Holi Festival in Pushkar, Rajasthan. Foreign guests described the celebrations as memorable and safe. At the Shri Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, devotees celebrated Holi with dance, music, and gulal. In Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, the Mali community organized a grand procession, while officials at the Indore Central Jail played with inmates to convey the message of harmony.
A Splash Of Colors At The Borders
Amidst the celebrations across various states across the country, Holi was also celebrated at the borders. In Chanderkot, Ramban district, Jammu and Kashmir, the 84th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force enthusiastically celebrated Holi with soldiers and their families. In the Pangong Lake area of Ladakh, Indo-Tibetan Border Police personnel celebrated the festival of colors with local people, conveying a message of unity and joy.
Netaji Immersed In The Colors Of Holi
In Patna, Janshakti Janata Dal chief Tej Pratap Yadav celebrated Holi with party workers and called for brotherhood. He prayed for peace in the country and the world and announced that his party would begin its Bihar tour after Holi. Meanwhile, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi played colours with workers at the All India Congress Committee headquarters. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu celebrated Holi at his residence in Shimla.
On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, wearing dark glasses, greeted the people of the state by playing colours with saints and devotees at the Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur, as usual. This festival of colours once again became a symbol of the country’s diversity and unity. With a balance of tradition, enthusiasm and safety, Holi 2026 gave the message of mutual love and harmony.
