Diljit Dosanjh Concert: Delhi Metro To Extend Services Until Midnight Tomorrow

To facilitate the movement of attendees heading to Diljit Dosanjh’s “Aura India Tour 2026” concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to keep metro services operational until midnight on Friday.
Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director of the Corporate Communications Department at DMRC, stated on Thursday that the Delhi Metro has made special arrangements. Under this plan, metro services across all lines excluding the Airport Express Line and the Rapid Metro in Gurugram will remain operational beyond their usual closing times. According to a statement, the DMRC has planned to extend metro services across all lines (excluding the Airport Express Line) until midnight on the day of the concert. More than 70,000 attendees are expected at the event.
To facilitate the return journey of the audience after the event, additional train trips will be operated across the entire network. Furthermore, extra trains will be kept on standby to be deployed if there is a sudden, significant surge in the number of passengers.
Additionally, due to the extension of service hours, the window for purchasing QR tickets via the DMRC mobile app (‘Delhi Metro Sarathi’) will also be extended by one hour.
To ensure the smooth movement of attendees, the DMRC has made special arrangements at the JLN Stadium metro station and other key interchange stations. Additional DMRC staff, customer service personnel, and ‘Customer Facilitation Agents’ (CFAs) will be deployed to guide passengers and manage crowds efficiently.
To further enhance passenger convenience and safety, additional security personnel will be stationed at the JLN Stadium Metro Station. To ensure compliance with security protocols and maintain smooth passenger movement, ‘Door Frame Metal Detectors’ (DFMDs) will be installed. Approximately 70,000 attendees are expected at this concert, many of whom are likely to use the Delhi Metro to travel to and from the venue.
According to the Delhi Metro, the ‘JLN Stadium Metro Station’ located on the Violet Line (Kashmere Gate – Raja Nahar Singh corridor) is the closest station to the venue. The DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) advises attendees to use the Delhi Metro to reach the event. This will make their journey convenient, safe, and eco-friendly, while also reducing reliance on private vehicles.
Earlier, on Wednesday, the Delhi Traffic Police provided detailed information regarding alternative traffic routes and available paths. They have advised commuters to use public transport, especially the Delhi Metro.
