Actress Niyati Fatnani has remarked that in the era of reality shows, celebrities’ statements are often taken out of context and scrutinized. In an exclusive conversation, Fatnani recounted her experience during ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi,’ noting that she faced significant trolling after a promo was released. However, once the full episode aired, people understood the actual situation and supported her.
When asked, “After reality shows, edited clips often go viral and spark controversies; do you feel that celebrities’ words are sometimes misunderstood or taken out of context?” she cited her own experience: “During ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi,’ when a promo was released, I faced a lot of criticism from fans. However, those who knew me were confident that I would never do anything wrong. After the episode aired, everyone learned the truth and supported me. In fact, that particular individual was eliminated from the show.”
The actress added, “Fans are deeply emotionally invested in their favorite artists, and this is a natural part of being a celebrity.” Addressing the question of whether talent or visibility is more important in the age of social media, Fatnani stated that the two are completely different things. She said, “If an artist is talented and can deliver a good performance, directors and producers will choose them for the role.
On the other hand, from a commercial perspective, if a project benefits from visibility, influential social media personalities might also be cast. Social media has become a crucial part of the entertainment industry today.” When asked if she had ever felt pressured to hide her relationship on social media, she denied it, stating, “I think it depends on the people involved in the relationship.” If both partners are at ease, nothing else really matters much.
