Actor Kunal Khemu has revealed the interesting story behind casting Preity Zinta as an undercover agent in his upcoming action comedy film “VIBE”.
The ‘Golmaal Again’ actor, who was mentioned while writing the film, had a sudden idea to imagine Preity as an undercover agent. What initially started as an idea on paper, finally turned into reality when the actress agreed to join the project. Kunal said that her casting adds an interesting and unexpected element to “VIBE”.
Sharing how the idea came about, she shared, “So, when I came into this character, I was really thinking who would it be, what would it be. And in my mind, I am also a big fan of Preity Zinta. So, what happens, when that woman comes, she is Preity Zinta. And people say, Preity Zinta, she is an undercover agent. And Preity Zinta says, “What did you think? I got married and moved to America, this is my life.”
“I am actually a government agent. So, this idea came to my mind, but of course, I did not go ahead with this idea. But when I finished writing this film, and then it came to casting it, no one would have expected it. So, this would be the best casting. Now, I just need to say yes to her. So, that’s how the journey began. But I am very happy that she agreed to do this film. “And I think she looks gorgeous as Merimach,” Kunal added.
Amazon MGM Studios unveiled the much-awaited trailer of its upcoming high-stakes action-comedy VIBE, titled by Kunal on social media. Written and directed by Kunal Khemu, “VIBE” is produced by Kunal and Chirag Nihalani under the banner of Drongo Films in association with Amazon MGM Studios.
The film stars Kunal Khemu in the lead role alongside Preity Zinta, Sparsh Srivastava and debutant Vanshika Dhir. “VIBE” is scheduled to hit the theatres on September 18.
