Spy Thriller ‘Sardar 2’ Gets U/A Certificate
The Film Will Be Released In Theatres From This Day

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has now cleared director PS Mithran’s much-awaited spy thriller, ‘Sardar 2’, starring actor Karthi in the lead role, for release with a U/A certificate. ‘Sardar 2’ is set to hit screens across the world on September 10.
Taking to its social media timelines to give an update, production house Prince Pictures, which is producing the film, wrote, “Silence before the storm. #Sardar2 has been certified U/A.”
The film has generated immense interest among fans and movie buffs for several reasons. In fact, actor Karthi, while speaking at the trailer launch of the film, had said that the audience watching the film would not be able to ignore the point that the film was trying to make as it related to a shocking truth about their health and well-being.
For those unaware, director P.S. Mithran had highlighted the issue of commercialization of water in ‘Sardar’, which was the prequel to ‘Sardar 2’. The film became a huge blockbuster. Now, in the second part of the spy thriller, the director has tried to showcase issues related to health and hygiene.
Calling director Mithran’s efforts for this film to be very honest, actor Karthi said that he wants the film to reach everyone. “Fans are also ready to watch such films,” he said and hoped that the film will receive a good response. The film’s unit had completed its shooting in Bangkok in June last year.
Interestingly, the unit completed 100 days of shooting in April last year. While announcing the sequel to Sardar, the makers had released a promo which showed Karthi’s character being sent to Cambodia as a spy. When asked if the story really goes to Cambodia or if it takes place in China, Mithran had said, “Initially, the story goes to Cambodia and then goes to China.”
On the technical front, ‘Sardar 2’ has cinematography by George Williams and music by Sam C. S. The film has been edited by Vijay Velakutty and art direction is by M. S. Madhavan, B. Sekar. The film has been written by Ratna Kumar, Ashmira Ayyappan and Vignesh Muniyand and the film’s stunts have been choreographed by Dilip Subbarayan and Chetan D’Souza.
