
The growing international tensions between the US, Iran, and Israel are now affecting domestic gas supplies. Gas cylinder supplies are running low. LPG consumers in Chandigarh are being advised to use gas cautiously, as the rules for booking gas cylinders have been changed.
According to distributors, gas cylinders that used to be available every 15 days will now be available only after a 25-30-day interval. Commercial gas cylinders are currently out of stock in many locations. HP gas cylinders are now available after 30 days of the previous booking, while Indian cylinders are available after a 25-day interval.
According to gas agencies, consumers with single cylinder connections will no longer be able to rebook before 21 days, compared to the previous 15-day period. Consumers with double cylinder connections will now have to make new bookings only after a gap of 25 to 30 days. It’s worth noting that domestic gas cylinders have recently become more expensive by ₹60. Vishu Duggal, who runs a restaurant in Sector 22, says that commercial gas cylinders are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain.
Catering businesses and organizers fear that a last-minute shortage of gas cylinders could create problems for weddings and large events. Wedding season has also begun. Restaurant owners are facing the most difficulties due to the lack of commercial cylinders.
