10,649 Poor Families In Haryana To Soon Receive Plots And Flats
CM Saini Announces Initiative; EWS Category Also Set To Benefit

In Haryana, 10,649 poor families are soon set to receive plots and flats. During a review meeting of the ‘Housing for All’ Department, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini issued directives to expedite the allotment of these plots and flats to eligible families as soon as possible. To date, a sum of ₹2,375 crore has been released across the state under five different schemes to provide housing to 231,215 families.
While reviewing the department’s roadmap and action plan for the next five years formulated under the ‘Haryana Vision-2047’ initiative the Chief Minister stated that strict action would be taken against any concerned official or employee if the benefits of the scheme are extended to an ineligible individual or family.
Providing A Roof Over Every Head Is The Government’s Priority: Saini
Providing a roof over the head of every resident of the state is among the government’s top priorities, and both the current Central and State governments are pursuing this objective in a “mission mode.” The ‘Housing for All’ Department has been directed to identify all remaining eligible families and formulate a detailed action plan to provide them with housing.
- Ganesan, the Director General of the department, provided a detailed overview regarding the distribution of housing units under various schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), Chief Minister Urban Housing Scheme, Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme 2.0, and housing for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) within licensed colonies. He informed the Chief Minister that the department is currently formulating an action plan to provide housing facilities to the remaining eligible families in the near future.
The Chief Minister emphasized that while the government is committed to providing a roof over every eligible family’s head through state assistance, it is equally essential to ensure that the scheme is not misused.
Strict Action Against Granting Benefits To Ineligible Individuals
He further directed that the list of all beneficiaries be made public at the Gram Panchayat (village council) level to facilitate verification and ensure that the families receiving benefits were, in fact, eligible for the scheme. If it is proven that ineligible individuals have received benefits under the scheme, action will be taken against the concerned officials and employees. He also issued instructions to grant concessions on registration fees for poor families belonging to nomadic communities whose economic condition is precarious.
