BJP Intensifies Preparations Ahead Of Upcoming Punjab Assembly Elections

Ahead of the Punjab assembly elections, the BJP has intensified its election preparations. A new team of BJP workers and local leaders will work at the grassroots level, led by senior state-level BJP leaders. Apart from this, election committees will be formed in the state soon.
Late on Friday evening, BJP national president Nitin Nabin and national general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh held a meeting in Delhi with senior leaders from Punjab, including president Kewal Singh Dhillon, former president Sunil Jakhar, MLA Ashwani Sharma, organisation secretary Mantri Srinivasulu, general secretary Anil Sarin, Union minister of state Ravneet Singh Bittu, former ministers Manoranjan Kalia, Manpreet Badal, Vijay Sampla and Som Prakash. Amit Shah was also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, feedback was sought from BJP leaders on the political situation in Punjab and instructions were issued to intensify election preparations across the state. Sources said that the BJP high command discussed the current situation of the party in Majha, Doaba and Malwa regions, the strength of the party cadre and its influence in both rural and urban areas. The Punjab BJP leaders also briefed the high command about the party’s performance in the recently held municipal elections and the panchayat elections held last year.
