Punjab Transport Minister Hands Over 40 Lakh To Family Of Deceased PRTC Conductor
Lost Life While On Duty

Finance and Transport Minister Harpal Cheema expressed deep condolences to the family of the late Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) conductor, Ramandeep Singh, and presented them with an insurance cheque worth ₹40 lakh. Ramandeep Singh had tragically lost his life while on duty.
A resident of Ghumiara village in the Sri Muktsar Sahib district, Ramandeep Singh had been recruited as a conductor at the PRTC through an outsourcing agency on January 2, 2017. On this occasion, the Minister handed over the cheque to the deceased’s father, Pargat Singh.
The Minister stated that this compensation has been provided in accordance with the corporate insurance terms stipulated under an insurance agreement between the PRTC and Punjab & Sind Bank, with the objective of providing financial assistance to the bereaved family.
He also reiterated that the Punjab government remains fully committed to ensuring the welfare and financial security of its employees and their families in the wake of unforeseen workplace accidents. Also present on this occasion were PRTC Chairman Harpal Juneja, Managing Director Bikramjit Singh Shergill, and representatives from Punjab & Sind Bank, who joined in expressing their condolences to the family.
