Iran-Israel Tensions: Punjabi Singer Ammy Virk’s Family Stranded In UAE

Wife, Daughter, And Sisters Hope For Safe Return

Amid the Iran-Israel tensions, Punjabi singer Ammy Virk’s family is stranded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Aam Aadmi Party Punjab General Secretary Baltej Pannu contacted Ammy Virk over the phone to inquire about the situation.

The singer stated that his wife, daughter, and sisters are in the UAE, while he himself is in India, causing concern for his family. Pannu assured that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is personally monitoring the situation and will coordinate with the central government for their safe return.

Pannu stated that the safety of citizens stranded abroad is the government’s priority. Expressing concern over the ongoing situation in the Gulf region, he expressed hope that peace will be restored soon.

Special Committee Formed For Safe Return Of Punjabis

Punjab NRI Affairs Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh stated that flights are operating regularly from Muscat, the capital of Oman, to India. Eight to ten flights are arriving daily from Lucknow, Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Goa, and Kochi. Passengers holding special visas can return to India from Muscat, while those without visas can apply online, where visas are issued within two days.

A special committee headed by ADGP NRI Wing RK Jaiswal has been formed to ensure the safe return of Punjabis from Gulf countries. It includes IPS and IAS officers and members of the NRI Commission. The minister met with officials to review the situation.

Ravjot Singh said the government is receiving frequent calls from Central Asia, most of whom are tourists. Currently, no Punjabi NRI has formally requested return. The government is coordinating with the central government to collect data on affected individuals and develop an emergency plan for safe evacuation.
