Chose A ‘Grey-Shaded’ Character In Luteri Dulhan Following Her Inner Voice

After playing the innocent character of Rinki in the web series Panchayat, actress Sanvika is now set to appear in a grey-shaded role in the upcoming web series Luteri Dulhan. In this series, she portrays the character of Maya a cunning con artist who ensnares wealthy men in a web of romance, marries them, and then flees with their cash and jewelry. In an exclusive interview regarding her role, the actress revealed that the most surprising aspect for her was the fact that the makers chose her for this part.

“Initially, I myself wondered whether I would be able to pull off the role of such a cunning con artist on screen,” the actress said, “but I am delighted that the makers placed their complete trust in me.” “In Panchayat, the audience saw you as an innocent young girl. Was choosing a grey character like Maya a risk for you?”

Responding to this question, Sanvika stated, “I don’t consider it a risk at all, because whenever I choose a project, I rely on my inner voice the voice of my heart. The moment I first heard the brief synopsis of this show, I was instantly thrilled at the prospect of playing this character. This role is completely different from any of the characters I have played previously.

As an artist, one rarely gets such opportunities to showcase the versatility of one’s acting skills.” Sanvika further noted that while most crime shows today tend to be serious, dark, and intense, *Luteri Dulhan* offers something a little different. “Although our series is woven around the theme of crime, it remains quite lighthearted and entertaining,” she remarked.

The actress describes it as a female-centric story. Typically, Indian cinema and television shows depict the battle between male criminals and male police officers; however, in this series, the audience will get to witness something entirely different. She remarked, “The unique twist in this series is that the criminal the one committing the theft is a woman, and the police officer pursuing her is also a woman. This element brings a sense of novelty and freshness to the story.”

Nowadays, there is a rapidly growing trend of female-led thriller films and series on OTT platforms. Speaking on this shift, Sanvika was asked whether today’s audiences prefer grounded and complex characters over glamorous heroines. The actress replied, “Contemporary cinema has undergone a complete transformation. For audiences today, the depth of the story matters far more than the on-screen glamour or glitz. If a story has substance, it is bound to captivate the audience.”
