The player auction for the ‘Sher-e-Punjab T20 League’ being organized by the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) on the lines of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has begun. This is the first edition of the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League. It has 6 teams named after different cities of Punjab. The league will start from August 30.

In this auction, teams also bid on players who have played IPL. However, marquee players like Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill have already been priced at Rs 10 lakh, so they will not be bid on in the auction.

IPL Salil Arora, who had played, was bought by Ludhiana Lions for Rs 8.20 lakh. His base price was Rs 1.5 lakh. At the same time, Harpreet Brar, who had played for Kings XI Punjab, was added to their team by Mohali Kings for Rs 4 lakh.

21-year-old player Amanjot Singh was bought by Jalandhar Warriors for his base price of Rs 1.5 lakh. Naman Dhir was bought by Soorma Warriors for Rs 10 lakh. Sanveer Singh, who played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL, proved to be the most expensive player so far. His base price was Rs 1.5 lakh, but Fazilka Falcons bought him for Rs 13.20 lakh. Vihan Malhotra was bought by Fazilka Falcons for a base price of Rs 1.5 lakh.
