NHAI Launches Online ‘FASTag Local Pass’ Facility At 121 Toll Plazas

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has expanded the online FASTag local pass facility to 121 toll plazas across the country. This information was shared in an official statement on Tuesday. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways stated that daily commuters can obtain monthly local passes online via the ‘Rajmarg Yatra’ mobile app. This eliminates the need to visit toll plazas in person or manually submit supporting documents.

NHAI Expands Scope

The first digital local pass facility was launched in July 2023 at the Mundka-Bakkarwala toll plaza on the Urban Extension Road-2 (UER-2) in Delhi. This initiative aims to make national highway travel smoother and more citizen-centric. It leverages technology to enhance transparency and efficiency in toll operations.

Facility For Residents Within A 20 Km Radius

Under the digital local pass system, individuals residing within a 20-kilometer radius of a toll plaza can apply for a local pass through the ‘Rajmarg Yatra’ mobile app. This pass allows users to make unlimited trips through the respective toll plaza during the month. Previously, applicants had to visit the toll plaza in person and submit documents to verify their residential address to obtain a local pass.
