Now Drivers Are The Owners, No Commission Required; How Is It Different And Cheaper Than Ola-Uber?

India's First Government-Backed Cab Taxi Service, 'Bharat Taxi', Was Officially Launched

India’s first government-backed cab taxi service, ‘Bharat Taxi’, was officially launched in New Delhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while launching the app, said that its biggest feature is that drivers will not have to pay any commission and they themselves will be stakeholders, i.e., owners of this platform. Passengers will get to travel at lower fares, and fares will not increase even during peak hours.

Bharat Taxi is based on the ‘Driver as Owner’ concept, where the driver is the owner of the platform, not a large company. The aim of this service is to curb the arbitrary practices of private companies like Ola and Uber. Bharat Taxi was successfully trialled in New Delhi and Rajkot, Gujarat.

Let’s find out how passengers and drivers can register on this platform and what its special features are…

How Does Bharat Taxi Work?

Drivers register themselves on the Bharat Taxi app. When a passenger books a taxi through the app, the nearest driver gets the ride. After the ride is completed, the fare goes directly to the driver’s bank account, not to any company’s wallet. This is why, in this model, drivers are not just employees, but stakeholders in the platform.

Bharat Taxi Has Two Apps:

For Passengers, There Is The Bharat Taxi – Cab, Auto & Bike App.

Passengers Can Download This App From The Google Play Store And Register Easily.

After Entering The Mobile Number In The App, An OTP Is Received, Which Verifies The Number.

After This, The Passenger Has To Enter Their Name.

Once The Registration Is Complete, A Cab, Auto, Or Bike Can Be Booked Through The App.
