Congress Releases Manifesto For Local Body Elections

Pledges To Make Cities ‘Green And Clean’

The Haryana Congress has released its manifesto for the local body elections. On this occasion, the Congress reiterated its resolve to build corruption-free, clean, well-equipped, and green cities.

Present at the manifesto release were several senior leaders, including Congress leader and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Rao Narendra Singh, Geeta Bhukkal, MLA BB Batra, and Aftab Ahmed, alongside the mayoral candidates for Panchkula (Sudha Bhardwaj) and Ambala (Kulwinder).

‘Manifesto Prepared Based On Public Suggestions’ – Hooda

Bhupinder Singh Hooda stated that this manifesto has been prepared with great diligence following extensive dialogue with the public. He noted that during the BJP’s 11-year tenure, the condition of the cities has deteriorated—roads are broken, sewage systems are clogged, and sanitation services have collapsed. He asserted that once in power, the Congress would implement this manifesto with complete sincerity.

‘Municipal Corporations Have Become ‘Hell Corporations’’ – Rao Narendra Singh

Rao Narendra Singh remarked that under BJP rule, municipal corporations have turned into “Hell Corporations” (*Narak Nigams*), and corruption has reached its peak. He alleged that this is precisely why the BJP has replaced 80 percent of its candidates. He expressed confidence that the public would extend overwhelming support to the Congress in the May 10 elections.
