Register For The Amarnath Yatra Starting April 15

Registration To Take Place At 554 Branches Of Four Banks Across The Country

There is good news for devotees of Lord Shiva; the wait is finally over. Advance registration for the annual Shri Baba Amarnath Yatra scheduled for 2026 will commence on April 15.

The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board has released this information, and details regarding the commencement date of the Yatra will be made available shortly. The Board has also provided details regarding the specific bank branches across various states and Union Territories of the country where registration will be conducted. In total, registration will be facilitated at 554 branches.

Registration Will Be Conducted At The Following Banks:

Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, Jammu & Kashmir Bank, and YES Bank. Advance registration will be carried out at various branches of these respective banks located in the Jammu & Kashmir districts of Doda, Jammu, Kathua, Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri, Samba, Srinagar, Udhampur, Reasi, Anantnag, and Pulwama. The Board has also released a list of doctors and hospitals across various states and Union Territories authorized to issue medical certificates.

The Board has stipulated that only health certificates issued on or after April 9 will be considered valid. Pilgrims must be between the ages of 13 and 70; individuals younger than 13 or older than 70 are not eligible to participate. As in previous years, advance registration will be conducted using an Aadhaar-based biometric system. Every pilgrim is required to obtain the necessary health certificate. A registration fee of ₹150 will be charged per pilgrim.

Permits To Be Issued For The Pahalgam And Baltal Routes

Upon registration, each pilgrim will be issued a Yatra Permit for either the Pahalgam or the Baltal route. Travel will not be permitted without a Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) tag. It is worth noting that, during a recent meeting of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, it was decided that the ‘Pratham Puja’ would be held on June 29. Although the official start date of the Yatra has not yet been announced, in accordance with tradition, the pilgrimage is scheduled to conclude on August 28, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan.

Guidelines have also been issued for group registration for the Shri Baba Amarnath Yatra. Groups comprising five or more pilgrims up to a maximum of 30 individuals may register collectively. To do so, they must contact the Srinagar office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board.

Applications for registration may be submitted starting April 15, with the deadline set for May 20, 2026. Group registration will be processed on a “first-come, first-served” basis. To avail of the group registration facility, pilgrims must designate a Group Leader and submit all requisite documents via postal mail. A registration fee of ₹250 per pilgrim is applicable; this payment may be made either online or via direct bank transfer.

Registration For Foreign Nationals

Registration for foreign national pilgrims undertaking the Shri Baba Amarnath Yatra will be facilitated through Punjab National Bank (PNB). In accordance with the guidelines issued by the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, foreign pilgrims are required to email the necessary registration documents including the application form, the mandatory health certificate, and a scanned copy of a valid passport to the Senior Manager of the IT Department at the PNB Circle Office in Jammu. Additionally, a registration fee of ₹1,550 per pilgrim must be deposited directly into the designated bank account.

Pilgrims may obtain this information from the official website of the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board. No pilgrim will be permitted to undertake the Yatra without an RFID card. These cards will be available at designated centers established across various districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
