When Should You Get Your AC Serviced? Experts Reveal The Right Time

Otherwise, Your Electricity Bill Could Go Up!

Many parts of the country are currently experiencing intense heat. Consequently, air conditioners (ACs) have become a necessity in almost every household; however, many people delay servicing until the cooling efficiency drops or a technical fault occurs.

Experts state that failing to service the AC on time not only increases electricity consumption but also places excessive strain on critical components, thereby raising the risk of breakdowns. Let us first look at how often an AC should be serviced in a year.

How Often Should You Get Your AC Serviced?

According to experts from O General Service Centers, a home AC should be serviced at least twice a year.

The first service should be done before the onset of summer specifically in March or April.

The second service should be carried out after the monsoon season, during September or October.

Servicing before summer is considered the most crucial, as this is when AC usage is at its peak. Timely servicing ensures better cooling and maintains the machine’s optimal functionality.

Servicing Frequency May Vary Based On Usage

However, the servicing schedule can vary depending on usage patterns. If the AC is used for 4 to 6 hours daily, servicing it once every six months is sufficient. Conversely, if the AC runs for 8 to 10 hours a day, it is recommended to get it serviced every three to four months.

Since ACs typically see heavier usage in offices, shops, and other commercial establishments, servicing should be done at intervals of two to three months in such cases.
