Dhanush And Mammootty’s Action-Entertainer ‘Om’ To Release On November 20

Director Rajkumar Periasamy’s highly anticipated action-entertainer ‘Om’, starring Tamil star Dhanush and Malayalam superstar Mammootty in lead roles, is now set to release in theaters on November 20 this year. The film’s producers announced.
Actor Dhanush’s production house, ‘Wunderbar Films’ which is producing the movie shared this information via its social media platforms.
They wrote, “The day of the Ultimate Strike has arrived. #OM will release in theaters worldwide on November 20, 2026. A film by Rajkumar Periasamy.”
It is worth noting that the producers had initially planned to release the film on October 16. However, actor Dhanush had announced in a statement that the film’s release was being postponed. He stated that he decided to reschedule the release out of respect for superstar Rajinikanth, as Rajinikanth’s film ‘Jailer 2’ is set to release on October 15.
Dhanush also clarified that his film would not be released during Diwali, as Suriya’s film had already been announced for that date. The actor-producer mentioned that he would soon announce a new release date for his film. Now, he has finalized November 20 as the release date.
A ‘title teaser’ released by the makers some time ago revealed that the story revolves around people who harvest ‘Red Sanders’ (red sandalwood) for a living. Dhanush himself plays the role of a woodcutter in the film. The teaser showed police personnel apprehending woodcutters who were illegally felling red sandalwood trees. When the police hold the laborers hostage at gunpoint, Dhanush is seen stepping in to rescue them.
Shreyas, the head of ‘Wunderbar Films’, stated during the ‘title teaser’ launch event that this would be one of the biggest-budget films of Dhanush’s career. He also mentioned that the film would bring back the classic ‘mass’ avatar of Dhanush that fans had been eagerly waiting to see.
Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela will appear as the lead actresses in the film, and the music has been composed by Sai Abhyankar. Ezhil Arasu has handled the cinematography. Kalavanan R. has done the editing, while Kavya Sriram has managed the costumes.
