The Bhagwant Singh Mann government created new history in the health sector of Punjab by dedicating 100 more Aam Aadmi clinics to the people. With this, the total number of clinics operating across the state has reached 1,090. Marking another milestone in the government’s ongoing ‘Health Revolution’, this expansion has further strengthened Punjab’s free and quality primary healthcare network. These clinics have so far seen over 5.90 crore people visit OPDs and have registered 3.43 crore free lab tests. This initiative, coupled with the ‘Mukham Mantri Sehat Yojana’ and huge investments in modern health infrastructure, has transformed access to affordable and quality healthcare services across Punjab.
Addressing a gathering in Moga, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “we have dedicated 100 more Aam Aadmi Clinics to the people of Punjab, taking the total number of clinics in operation to 1,090. These clinics provide free tests and quality treatment, and more than five crore OPDs have been registered.”
The Chief Minister said, “Aam Aadmi Clinics have also enabled the government to create a comprehensive health database of the people, which is ensuring better planning and treatment as per the healthcare needs of different areas. Our sole aim is to provide quality healthcare services to every citizen in every nook and corner of Punjab. People are getting free medical advice, medicines and testing services in these clinics, where highly qualified doctors and health staff are serving them with full dedication.”
Over 5 crore OPDs in Aam Aadmi Clinics
- Since its inception, Aam Aadmi Clinics have recorded over 5.90 crore OPDs, including 1.86 crore new patients and 4.04 crore repeat patients, which reflects the growing trust of the people in the primary healthcare system of the state.
- Each Aam Aadmi Clinic sees an average of 84 patients daily and the network is collectively serving over 83,000 patients across Punjab every day.
- Over 3.43 crore lab tests have been conducted free of cost at Aam Aadmi Clinics.
- Over 42,000 pregnant women receive antenatal care through these clinics every month.
- Over 1.25 lakh patients suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure receive treatment and follow-up every month through the Aam Aadmi Clinic network.
- Every Aam Aadmi Clinic provides 107 essential medicines and 47 lab tests free of cost.
- This clinic is fully IT-based through the eSushrut platform, which ensures paperless patient registration, prescription and medicine distribution.
