Following the registration of an FIR against Rajya Sabha member Sandeep Pathak, Punjab BJP State President Sunil Jakhar has stated that he will soon meet the Governor of Punjab to apprise him of the entire matter.
Speaking to reporters, Jakhar informed that a delegation would submit detailed facts to the Governor to ensure transparency in the case and to guarantee that necessary action is taken.

Cornering the Aam Aadmi Party leadership on this issue, Jakhar remarked that clarity is essential in such matters, yet the government is attempting to divert attention. He asserted that the public has now begun to distinguish between political rhetoric and real issues. According to Jakhar, there are several critical issues facing the state to which the government must provide answers.
He stated, “Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones at others’ homes.” Drawing a parallel to the current situation, Jakhar emphasized that introspection is necessary before engaging in mutual recriminations.
Jakhar also reacted to the case involving Laljit Bhullar. He stated that this matter, too, would be raised with utmost seriousness; he intends to meet the Union Home Minister, accompanied by seven Rajya Sabha MPs who have signed a memorandum. Jakhar affirmed that he would demand a CBI inquiry into this case so that the truth may come to light.
Jakhar reiterated that all relevant facts would be presented during his meeting with the Governor. He emphasized the importance of raising such issues at the appropriate forum—within the constitutional framework—to ensure that further action proceeds in accordance with the law.
Jakhar pointed out that MLA Raman Arora was, until recently, described as a close aide of the Chief Minister; yet, subsequently, a case was registered against him—despite the fact that he had even been provided with security cover during the confidence vote. Appealing to the public, Jakhar suggested that the responsibility for steering Punjab out of its current predicament should be entrusted to someone else. Jakhar also clarified that he is not in favor of imposing President’s Rule in Punjab.
