There is a new update regarding Bollywood megastar Salman Khan’s upcoming film. Reports suggest that Nayanthara has been cast in this movie, which is being helmed by the South Indian industry’s “Blockbuster Director,” Vamshi Paidipally. Nayanthara often hailed as the “Lady Superstar” of South Indian cinema previously made her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the film *Jawan*. There is also speculation that Salman Khan and the filmmakers have locked in the date of Eid 2027 for the film’s theatrical release.
Salman Khan had previously announced this new film on social media. Now trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the news that Nayanthara has been cast in the lead role opposite Salman Khan. The rest of the film’s cast is yet to be announced. Prior to this, Salman Khan and the production house, ‘Sri Venkateswara Creations,’ had announced this new project on social media.
Sharing a photograph with Vamshi Paidipally, Salman Khan wrote in his signature style: “With all my heart, mind, and soul starting this April with Vamshi Paidipally and Dil Raju.” On the other hand, the production house also confirmed the announcement, describing Salman as “a personality who has given countless moments of joy to audiences across the globe.” They noted that he is now joining forces with “Blockbuster Filmmaker” Vamshi Paidipally for this project.
A Big-Budget Action Thriller
National Award winning director Vamshi Paidipally is renowned as the “Blockbuster Director” of South Indian cinema. This marks his first foray into directing a film for Bollywood. It is reported that the movie will be a big budget action thriller, being produced on a grand scale. The film is expected to feature prominent actors from both the Hindi and South Indian film industries. Issuing a statement, the filmmakers said, “This film will present Salman Khan on screen in an avatar that his fans have never witnessed before. The movie will be shot across various locations throughout India, commencing on April 14 on a grand set constructed in Mumbai.”
Salman’s ‘Matrubhoomi’ To Be Postponed
Meanwhile, there is also speculation regarding the postponement of Salman Khan’s film *Matrubhoomi*, which is based on the Galwan conflict. Currently, its scheduled release date is April 17, 2026; however, reports now suggest that it will instead be released around Independence Day specifically on or near August 14.
A portion of the film’s shooting remains pending. Several scenes in this war drama are currently being reshot following the demise of singer actor Prashant Tamang, who rose to fame through *Indian Idol*. Furthermore, the film’s final shooting schedule was disrupted recently due to Salim Khan’s hospitalization. In any case, Akshay Kumar’s *Bhoot Bangla* is now slated for release on April 17. This also makes it evident that Akshay likely made this decision only after consulting with his friend, Salman.
