AI Fears Are Valid, But Youth Will Change The Future: Sundar Pichai

Amidst growing global concerns about Artificial Intelligence (AI), Google CEO Sundar Pichai has admitted that the fears of students and youth about job security are not entirely wrong. However, he expressed confidence that the new generation is capable of facing every challenge and shaping the future.

In a recent podcast interview, Pichai said that AI is changing rapidly, and humans are not easily prepared to understand such rapid technological changes. This is the reason why there is growing concern among the youth and job seekers. He said that in the future, these youth will play a key role in advancing AI technology and addressing its impact.

Pichai was recently answering a question related to Stanford University. He was asked what he would do if students opposed AI. He responded calmly, saying that he has confidence in the understanding and capabilities of the new generation. He acknowledged that AI is changing the job market, and its impact is now clearly visible.

According to reports, in the past few months, several large companies have cited AI as the reason for employee layoffs and changes in workflows. Unemployment among fresh graduates has also reached a four-year high. Pichai said that people’s concerns are natural as AI can completely change the way we work.

However, the Google CEO also noted that every new technology in history initially brought fear, but later improved the standard of living and innovation. According to him, AI can also create new opportunities for people in the future, provided it is understood and used correctly.

Pichai admitted that the tech industry has not yet succeeded in properly explaining the benefits of AI to the public. He said that tech companies need to be more transparent and explain how AI can improve people’s lives.

During the interview, a survey was also mentioned in which only 16 percent of respondents considered AI to be a positive technology, while a large majority saw it negatively. This is why the debate regarding AI and the demand for transparency is constantly growing around the world.
