Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora Arrested: ED Arrests Him During Raid

Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora has been arrested by the ED. The ED has been conducting raids at Arora’s Chandigarh residence since Saturday morning.  A team arrived at Arora’s residence in Sector 2 in around 20 vehicles this morning. This is the ED’s second action against Minister Sanjeev Arora in a month, following raids at his Ludhiana locations.

According to sources, the Enforcement Directorate has detected alleged financial irregularities in some companies linked to Minister Sanjeev Arora. These include fraudulent sales of ₹157.12 crore and fraudulent exports made through shell companies. The agency suspects that funds have been round-tripping through foreign entities in violation of FEMA regulations. Consequently, the agency has attached several bank accounts and frozen demat accounts and mutual fund holdings linked to this network.

Punjab Will Not Bow Down – CM

Furious over this raid, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann targeted the BJP in a tweet. The CM wrote, “Today, the BJP’s ED has once again visited Sanjeev Arora’s home. This is the third time in a year that the BJP’s ED has visited his home, and the second time in a month. Yet, they found nothing. I want to tell Modi ji that Punjab is the land of Gurus; even Aurangzeb could not subdue it. It is the land of Bhagat Singh, who never bowed to the British; therefore, Punjab will never bow to Modi’s tricks. Punjab will end this unethical alliance between the ED and the BJP.

The BJP’s Plans Will Not Succeed

Speaking to reporters in Sangrur, Bhagwant Mann warned that the BJP’s plans to break the brotherhood of Punjab will never succeed, and that Punjabis will give a strong response to the injustice being done to Punjab.” The Chief Minister strongly criticized the BJP’s functioning, saying that whenever elections approach, the BJP resorts to tactics like bomb blasts, defamation notices, and ED raids. He said that the BJP tries to intimidate us by sending defamation notices, but we are not bothered by them. The Modi government should stop its dictatorship and such cheap tactics.

Referring to the situation in West Bengal, the Chief Minister said that an atmosphere of violence has been created there even before the swearing-in ceremony. The entire Bengal is burning. Giving a message of communal harmony, the Chief Minister said, “The land of Punjab is very fertile; all kinds of seeds can be sown here, but hatred can never grow here.”

Targeting the BJP, he said that the mutual brotherhood here is very strong and the Delhi government will have to pay the price for the injustice it is doing to Punjab.

Raid In Mohali Two Days Ago

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted simultaneous raids at approximately 12 locations in Mohali and Chandigarh on Thursday. A raid was conducted this morning on the flat of IT businessman Nitin in Western Towers Society in Chajju Majra, Mohali. Nitin is said to be close to the Chief Minister’s OSD, although this has not been officially confirmed. The Chief Minister had previously stated that his government had no connection to these actions.

Modi Has Challenged Punjab – Kejriwal

Meanwhile, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that as soon as the Bengal elections ended, Modi started conducting daily ED raids in Punjab. In the past few years, Modi has dealt a severe blow to Punjab. He has harassed Punjabis in various ways.

He attacked Punjab’s water supply, attempted to take over Panjab University, withheld rural development funds, and now has begun a series of ED raids. Ashok Mittal’s house was raided, and the next day he was inducted into the BJP. This means the ED raid wasn’t aimed at finding the stolen money; it was merely to break Ashok Mittal and get him to join the BJP. A few days ago, Sanjeev Arora’s house was also raided. When he refused to join the BJP, his house was raided again.

Punjab is the land of the Gurus. Several centuries ago, Aurangzeb seized control of various parts of the country through acts of oppression and atrocity. Modi Ji, too, has deceitfully seized control of several parts of the nation. Subsequently, Aurangzeb arrived in Punjab. Modi Ji, too, has now arrived in Punjab. Aurangzeb inflicted immense atrocities upon the Gurus. Modi Ji, too, is inflicting atrocities upon the people of Punjab. However, the Gurus confronted Aurangzeb by making supreme sacrifices and saved the people. Today, drawing inspiration from the sacrifices of the Gurus, Punjab will stand up against Modi Ji’s tyranny and save the entire nation from his oppression.

A few years ago, Modi Ji challenged the farmers of Punjab—and he was ultimately forced to bow down before them. Today, Modi Ji has challenged the entirety of Punjab.
