72nd National Film Awards: Yami Gautam And Kartik Aaryan Honoured With Best Actress And Actor Award
Veteran Actor Receives 'Dadasaheb Phalke' Award; Gets Emotional While Accepting It
The 72nd National Film Awards ceremony was held today, honouring actors for their outstanding performances in the world of cinema. At the ceremony held in Gujarat, actress Yami Gautam received the National Film Award for ‘Best Actress in a Leading Role’ from President Droupadi Murmu.
She was honoured for her portrayal of intelligence officer Zooni Haksar in Aditya Suhas Jambhale’s film *Article 370*. This marks Yami’s first National Film Award. The ‘Best Actor’ award was shared between Mammootty (for the film ‘Bramayugam’) and Kartik Aaryan (for the film ‘Chandu Champion’), whereas the honor for ‘Best Actress’ went solely to Yami this year.
Her film ‘Article 370’ also won the ‘Best Feature Film’ award, making it one of the major winners at the 72nd National Film Awards. Yami was accompanied at the ceremony by her filmmaker husband, Aditya Dhar.
Veteran actor Anant Nag was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the ceremony. The entire hall resounded with applause to honor him as he received the award, and Mammootty was given a standing ovation. The actor appeared quite emotional while accepting the award. At the ceremony, the film ‘Srikanth’ was honored with the ‘Rajat Kamal’ award. At the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony, Tamil actor Dhanush was honored with the ‘National Film Award Special Mention (Feature Film)’ for his outstanding performance in the movie ‘Captain Miller’. The film is directed by Arun Matheswaran.
