The makers of director Murali Kanth Devasoth’s upcoming Telugu entertainer ‘Alias Rukmini’ starring Telugu actor Nithiin in the lead role announced on Friday that the film will be released in theaters worldwide on December 4 this year.
Sharing the update on their social media pages, the film’s production house, ‘Unanimous Productions’, wrote, “This December, a love story of Krishna is coming to be told. #AliasRukmini in theaters worldwide on December 4. But who is Rukmini? You will find out on October 13. Natural Star @nameisnani presents @actor_nithiin in #AliasRukmini. Writer and Director: @murali_kanth449. #AliasRukminiOnDec4th.”
It is worth noting that the film’s team had completed the first schedule of shooting in September of this year. Sources close to the film’s team revealed that the first schedule of the shoot lasted 10 days. The sources stated, “The team filmed some key scenes involving the lead actors,” adding that the lead actor, Nithiin, participated in the shoot alongside Sai Kumar, Harsha Vardhan, and other prominent actors.
The film is produced by Deepthi Ganta and is being presented by popular Telugu actor Nani.
Excitement has been building among fans ever since the makers released the title teaser a few days ago. Sharing a video revealing the title on his social media pages, actor Nithiin said, “You just know. When the aim hits the mark perfectly. #AliasRukmini is aiming straight for your hearts, and we’ve only just begun… The title reveal is out now. You’re going to be talking a lot about this film. Writer and Director: @murali_kanth449.”
The title teaser began with a voiceover. From the audio, it was evident that director Murali was discussing the film with actor Nani.
Director Murali tells Nani that the film is about Krishna. It is only after this that visuals begin to appear in the title teaser.
Nithiin is seen asleep in a chair, while subsequent scenes reveal that he is an author who writes books on erotic themes. Nani stops the director, Murali, and says, “Wait a second. You said this was Krishna’s story.” He then lists the titles of the books shown on screen and emphasizes that all of them were written by Rukmini.
We hear Nani ask the director, “Who is this Rukmini?” However, Nithin who had been asleep until then answers the question, saying, “Rukmini is my wife.” Nani is then heard saying, “I really like this script. When do we start shooting?”
The film is backed by a strong technical team. Jomon T. John handles the cinematography, while Vijay Bulganin provides the music. Srujana Adusumilli is the film’s editor, and the costumes have been designed by Rekha Bogarapu. The film is being co-directed by Ramana Madhavaram.
