Police Take Several Leaders Including Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav Into Custody

Delhi Police have removed Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, as well as SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, from the protest site outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence and taken them into custody. Rahul Gandhi, along with other Congress leaders including the Chief Ministers of Karnataka and Kerala, started a dharna protest at around 3.30 pm to protest against the police action on the protesting students.

According to the information received, the protesting leaders have been taken into a bus by the police. Congress MPs have also been removed from the protest site. Along with this, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has also been put in a bus. Rahul Gandhi has been taken to Chhatrasal Stadium police station in Model Town. This dharna was being held near the back gate of the Prime Minister’s residence. Congress leader Pawan Khera has also been taken into custody by the police.
