State’s First Tourist Police Post Launched At Mansa Devi Temple; CM Saini Inaugurates It

Devotees visiting the Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula will no longer need to visit a police station to lodge complaints. Haryana’s first tourist police post has been established within the temple complex itself to facilitate the filing of complaints and FIRs. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated the post on Sunday. Twenty specially trained personnel will be deployed here, and the temple premises will be monitored via more than 100 CCTV cameras.

Information On Everything From Darshan To Parking

At the tourist police post, devotees can obtain information regarding darshan queues, prasad, langar (community kitchen), the shoe-keeping facility, and parking, as well as details about the bus stand, railway station, and auto/e-rickshaw services. The personnel have undergone special training in communication and public interaction to assist devotees arriving from other states. They will wear a distinct uniform so they can be easily identified when needed.

Keeping An Eye On Pickpockets And Chain Snatchers

Live monitoring of over 100 CCTV cameras will be conducted from a control room established at the post. This will help keep a watch on suspicious activities and incidents such as pickpocketing and chain snatching. Complaints regarding missing persons or lost belongings can also be lodged within the temple complex. Previously, devotees had to travel about two kilometers to the Mata Mansa Devi police station for such complaints.

The Chief Minister was briefed on the post’s operations and security arrangements by police officials led by Director General of Police Ajay Singhal. The police will coordinate with the temple board, as well as the health and fire departments, to handle emergencies, medical needs, crowd management, and VIP movements. The objective is to provide devotees with security, guidance, and grievance redressal facilities all in one place. Attendees
