Travelers At Chandigarh Airport To Now Find Relief From Expensive Food

Tea Available For ₹10, Snacks For ₹20

Travelers flying from Chandigarh need no longer worry about expensive food and beverages. On Sunday, the ‘Udaan Yatri Cafe’ was inaugurated at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, where passengers can now enjoy a cup of tea for just ₹10. This initiative has been launched with the aim of providing affordable and accessible amenities to common travelers.

At this cafe, not only is tea available for ₹10, but bottled water is also being offered at the same price. Additionally, coffee is available for ₹20, while samosas, sandwiches, and kachoris are priced at ₹20 each. Furthermore, the ‘Sweet of the Day’ will also be served to passengers for a mere ₹20. This move is being hailed as a major relief for passengers at the airport, given that food and beverage prices were previously quite exorbitant.

In contrast, at other private cafes located within the airport, the price of a vegetarian sandwich starts at ₹170, while tea costs ₹120, coffee is priced at ₹150, and bottled water sells for up to ₹80. Against this backdrop, the ‘Udaan Yatri Cafe’ has emerged as an affordable alternative for travelers.

Along with the cafe, several other facilities were also launched on Sunday. These include DigiYatra services, a library, free Wi-Fi, and a Kids Zone all designed to further enhance the passenger experience.

All these facilities were virtually inaugurated by the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu. He stated that the government’s objective is to transform airports from mere transit points into spaces that offer a convenient and affordable experience for travelers. According to the airport administration, the primary goal of the ‘Udaan Yatri Cafe’ is to provide quality food items at affordable rates to passengers from all walks of life.
