CM Mann Slams Central Government Over US-India Trade Deal

On the fourth day of the budget session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, the Indo-US trade agreement was discussed. In the Vidhan Sabha, Aman Arora read out US President Donald Trump’s tweet. The minister said that Punjab’s agriculture will be affected the most by the Indo-US deal.
Aman Arora said that if BJP members were in the Vidhan Sabha, they would have questioned them, but they have walked out of here. He said that this is not a trade agreement at all, because the deal is between two parties, whereas it is an order from America. Aman Arora said that this deal should be terminated immediately. On this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is calling the orders of US President Trump a ‘deal’.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said on the trade agreement that nothing has happened in the Indo-US agreement yet. The government neither discussed nor talked to anyone, and the deal was finalized. He said that this agreement is more dangerous than the three black farm laws.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that “My appeal to the Prime Minister is to think about the country, not about foreign countries. Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister of India, he is not the country. Criticizing him is not criticizing the country. Those who speak against him get raids by ED and CBI. When they go to him, everything becomes fine.”
The Chief Minister said that the trade agreement will also affect cotton producers. Because the condition has been made in the deal that if American cotton is imported here and its cloth is made and sent to the US, then the tariff will be zero. If cotton is exported from India for clothes, then the tariff will be 18 percent. This is more dangerous than the three black laws.
