Sunil Shetty is delighted with the success of his new film, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. In it, he appeared alongside 90s co-stars like Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Raveena Tandon. Following its box-office success, the actor believes it paves the way for family entertainers in Bollywood. “The success of any film is a victory for the entire industry, especially at a time when we have forgotten what family entertainment truly means. Firoz Nadiadwala shares a vision similar to Disney’s; that is the reason behind the success of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’.
I am happy and excited, and I hope more such family entertainers are made.” Speaking on reuniting with old co-stars and finding a place in the audience’s hearts, Sunil says, “The best part about the film is that despite the presence of so many famous actors, you manage to carve out your own identity. This success belongs as much to Akshay as it does to Raveena, Paresh, bhai, Johnny, myself, or any other actor. Such films give you the chance to reclaim a spot in the audience’s hearts.”
On ‘Hera Pheri’, Sunil notes that while he worked with his ‘Hera Pheri’ co-stars in ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, recent reports suggest Priyadarshan has stepped away from the third installment of the franchise, leaving the project in limbo. When asked about this, Sunil said, “‘Hera Pheri’ is the biggest comedy franchise of my career. I have very fond memories associated with it.
