A Sainik School Will Be Built In Chandigarh
Administrator & Defense Minister Discuss The Proposal, Also Discuss Security On The Punjab Border.

Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria paid a courtesy call to Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi. The two discussed in detail the proposal to establish a Sainik School in Chandigarh and security on Punjab’s border with Pakistan.
The Administrator stated that the establishment of a Sainik School would significantly contribute to strengthening discipline, leadership skills, and a sense of national service among the youth. The Defense Minister listened attentively to the Administrator’s views, which were described as meaningful.
The meeting also discussed in depth how to effectively control drug and weapon smuggling through drones in Punjab’s border areas. Special emphasis was placed on strengthening and modernizing the anti-drone system to further strengthen national security.
This Is The Proposal For The Sainik School
The Sainik School in Chandigarh is proposed to be built on 16 acres of land belonging to the Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS) in Sector 23. The school, to be built in collaboration with the Sainik Schools Society (SSS) of the Ministry of Defence, will be the country’s first non-residential Sainik School to be housed within a government school campus.
