The makers of director Venu Yeldandi’s upcoming film ‘Yellamma’ announced that the movie will be released in cinemas worldwide on March 5 next year. With this film, renowned music director Devi Sri Prasad is set to make his acting debut.
On his ‘X’ (Twitter) account, Devi Sri Prasad shared the release date announcement issued by the production house and wrote, “Wishing everyone a musical Dussehra. With the blessings of Goddess Yellamma, we are arriving on March 5th… with love, and for the love of you all (folded hands). #YellammaOn5thMarch2027 @SVC_official.”
Earlier this year, the prominent music director had shared a video clip released by ‘T-Series,’ in which he was seen visiting his native place. At the time, he said, “An interesting video for all of you. With musical love… [it’s about] those wonderful traditions and culture that instilled a passion for folk arts in me from childhood. The ‘Ammoru Jaathara’ celebrated in my father’s village, ‘Vedurupaka’… this is the reason why I said ‘yes’ to ‘Yellamma’.”
In the video, Devi Sri Prasad is seen walking around ‘Vedurupaka,’ his father’s birthplace. The music director-turned-actor shared that his father used to bring him here from Chennai during his childhood so that he could experience the purity of nature.
For those who may not know, ‘Yellamma’ is directed by Venu Yeldandi the film that marks the acting debut of the renowned music director, Devi Sri Prasad. While releasing a glimpse video, the film’s producers stated, “This is faith. This is tradition. And this is a struggle born from the very soil. A glimpse of #Yellamma is now revealed. Presenting Rockstar DSP who has always stirred your hearts with his superhit music now in a brand-new avatar.”
Produced by Shirish, the film features music composed by Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) himself, who also plays a character named ‘Parshi’ in the movie. With cinematography by Acharya Venu, the film is being presented by Dil Raju.
