The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) removed its leader and Member of Parliament from Punjab, Raghav Chadha, from the post of Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha. Along with this decision, the Aam Aadmi Party wrote a letter to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, requesting that Raghav Chadha not be allotted speaking time from the party’s quota. Following this move by the party, Raghav Chadha posted his first update on his ‘X’ account.

In this video, Raghav Chadha made no mention of his removal or any tension with the party leadership. The video features a series of short clips showcasing issues of public concern that Chadha recently raised in the Rajya Sabha clips that had previously gone viral on social media.

The video depicts him raising issues that have a widespread impact on the common people and the economy. One segment of the video addresses regulations regarding the expiration of mobile data packages. The second segment focuses on the working conditions of gig workers employed by quick-commerce platforms.

Within just one hour, this video post by the AAP leader garnered 147,000 views and was reposted by approximately 2,000 users. Additionally, the post has received over 7,000 likes, and nearly 900 people have commented to share their reactions.

Key Issues Raised By Raghav Chadha In Parliament

The Gig Workers’ Issue: Raghav expressed concern regarding low wages, the “10-minute delivery” model, and the lack of social security for delivery partners working with companies such as Blinkit, Zomato, and Swiggy.

Digital Content Creators: The AAP leader demanded an amendment to the Copyright Act, 1957, to protect teachers and influencers from the wrongful takedown of their digital content.

The Health Sector: He advocated for a “One Nation, One Health Treatment” policy and raised concerns regarding the status and practices of private hospitals. Food Adulteration: Raghav raised the issue of food adulteration in the Rajya Sabha, specifically highlighting the use of urea and other harmful substances.

Affordable Food at Airports: Raghav proposed that affordable food options should be made available to passengers in the departure areas of all 150+ airports.

The 28-Day Recharge Issue: Raghav suggested that mobile recharge plans should be valid for a full calendar month (30 or 31 days) rather than just 28 days, and that unused data should be carried forward.

Bank Penalties: He proposed the elimination of penalties imposed for failing to maintain a minimum bank balance.

Joint Income Tax Returns: Raghav suggested that the option of filing joint income tax returns should be introduced for married couples.

Paternity Leave: He argued that paternity leave should be established as a legal right in India.
