Intriguing Teaser Released For Nayanthara-Starrer ‘Mookuthi Amman 2’

The makers of director Sundar C’s upcoming devotional thriller ‘Mookuthi Amman 2’, starring Nayanthara in the lead role, announced on Monday that the film will hit theaters on November 6, coinciding with this year’s Diwali.

To mark the occasion, they also released an intriguing teaser for the film, sparking excitement among fans and movie lovers. Production house ‘Vels Film International’ wrote on its social media pages, “Presenting #RiseOfMahasakthi (Teaser) in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. Releasing on November 6, 2026. A magnificent devotional entertainer by Sundar C. #MookuthiAmman2FromNov6 #MahasakthiFromNov6”

The teaser, titled ‘Rise of Mahasakthi’, opens with a scene featuring a horseman entering a cave hidden behind a waterfall to warn his queen of an impending danger. He says, “Enemy soldiers are coming here because they have discovered that the child is present here.”

The production house, ‘Vels Film International’, shared a ‘BTS’ (Behind-the-Scenes) video on its ‘X’ account. This video featured glimpses of the stars working on the film and included their brief thoughts on the project. The video concluded with a statement from the film’s director, Sundar C, confirming that the shooting has been completed.

There has been immense excitement among fans ever since the film was first announced. Notably, the film’s producer, Ishari K. Ganesh, had previously revealed that actress Nayanthara who plays the lead role (that of a goddess) observed a fast for a month to prepare for the character.

During a puja ceremony held to mark the official launch of the film last March, producer Ishari K. Ganesh said, “I must mention Nayanthara. She has been observing a fast for nearly a month now.” Ishari Ganesh recounted that five years ago, when actor RJ Balaji approached him about making the first installment of the ‘Mookuthi Amman’ franchise, he agreed immediately because ‘Mookuthi Amman’ was his family deity.

Ishari K. Ganesh said, “When we were deciding who would play the lead role in ‘Mookuthi Amman’, Nayanthara was our only choice. We approached her, and she agreed right away. The film lived up to the audience’s expectations.”

Producer Ishari K. Ganesh stated, “After that film, I was waiting for another movie based on Goddess Amman, but nothing of the sort was made. I wanted to produce a pan-Indian film centered on Goddess Mookuthi Amman, so I thought, why not make a sequel to ‘Mookuthi Amman’?” When I discussed this with my team, we concluded that the best person to direct this second part would be Sundar C, who is also known as the ‘Franchise King’.
