‘Nothing Left To Say…’: Raja Warring Leaves For Delhi After Resignation
Meeting With Rahul Gandhi Scheduled For Friday

Amidst ongoing speculation regarding the Punjab Congress state presidency, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring left Chandigarh for Delhi on Thursday evening. Warring is set to meet Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday. Speaking at Chandigarh Airport before his departure, he stated that he was heading to Delhi but had nothing to share at the moment.
He will only be able to clarify the situation after meeting Rahul Gandhi on Friday. Warring’s trip to Delhi has intensified the ongoing discussions within the Punjab Congress regarding the state presidency. For the past 24 hours, there has been talk that the Congress high command has decided to remove Warring from the post of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) President and may appoint Vijay Inder Singla as his successor.
No Formal Confirmation From Senior Congress Leaders
However, no official letter or directive regarding this matter has been issued by the Congress high command so far, nor has any senior Congress leader formally confirmed the move. Meanwhile, it has come to light that Warring’s social media account has been updated to designate him as the ‘Former President.’ This has further fueled speculation about a change in the state presidency, although a change in a social media profile cannot yet be considered an official decision.
Punjab Congress Leaders Gathering In Delhi
Amid the heightened activity within the Punjab Congress, several senior party leaders have arrived in Delhi. These include MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. Warring himself is also en route to Delhi. Leader of the Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa is also expected to arrive in the capital. Additionally, there is talk of other leaders loyal to Channi reaching Delhi.
Given these developments, Warring’s meeting with Rahul Gandhi on Friday is considered highly significant. Only after this meeting will it become clear what the High Command’s next move regarding the Punjab Congress state president will be. Speculation about potential organizational changes in Punjab ahead of the upcoming assembly elections has stirred up political activity within the Congress party.
All eyes are now on when the High Command will make an official decision regarding the new state president and how the situation unfolds following Warring’s meeting with Rahul Gandhi.
