Reality Show ‘Alliance’ To Return With A New Season On January 14

The reality streaming show ‘Alliance’ is set to return for its second season. The show’s producers announced the new season and scheduled its premiere for January 14, 2027.

‘Alliance’ is the Indian adaptation of a globally acclaimed Dutch format created by John de Mol and produced by Banijay Asia. In the first season, hosted by Kunal Khemu, 16 celebrities (referred to as ‘Allies’ or partners) were placed in a mysterious headquarters run by ‘The System.’ There, they faced physical and mental challenges, formed alliances, and proved that in this game, the person with the sharpest mind emerges victorious.

Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals at Prime Video India, said, “The response to The Alliance Season 1 validated what we had always believed that Indian audiences are ready for a more intelligent form of reality entertainment. The show not only engaged viewers but also fostered a community deeply invested in every move, alliance, and twist of the game. The love Season 1 received inspired us not to make the audience wait a full year.”

They further added, “We are bringing back Season 2 soon, where the stakes will be higher, the game faster and sharper, and the drama more intense; the ‘System’ will also be more advanced than ever, putting participants through an unprecedented test. Our continued partnership with Banijay Asia enables us to further push the boundaries of this format. ‘Alliance’ has established itself as a significant show in the Indian unscripted space, and Season 2 will further solidify this position.”

The show’s first season showcased mind games, shifting loyalties, secret missions, and a compelling gameplay style. The Group CEO of Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India stated, “‘Alliance’ is a format that poses a very simple question: when the rules keep changing, who can stay focused on the game? It was this tension between strategy and human behavior that made Season 1 so engaging, and it also gives us the opportunity to make the show even better.”

They further added, “For Season 2, we have returned to that core premise and found new ways to test the ‘Alliances’ not just through challenges, but also through the decisions they make and the relationships they build. We are excited to continue this journey with Prime Video, and we will certainly take the game to a new level.” The show will stream on Prime Video.
