Farmer leaders said that the United Kisan Morcha is giving protest programs across the country against the free trade agreement. They said that the bilateral and free trade agreements being made with the US and other countries will destroy India’s agriculture sector. This is part of a well-thought-out conspiracy to get corporate houses to take over Indian agriculture, but SKM will never allow this. If the government tries to do any kind of bullying, a large-scale protest will be launched against it and the rulers will be directly responsible for the situation that has arisen.
Apart from this, after holding a state-level dharna in Chandigarh on July 10, the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta-Dakonda) and Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta-Ugrahan) will march towards CM Mann’s official residence to hand over a memorandum to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Both the organizations have completed the preparations for this protest and farmers are being mobilized in the villages. During this protest, their voices will be raised against the free trade agreement, against the increased prices of diesel, petrol and cooking gas on the pretext of war and for other farmer demands.
The farmer leaders said that the Punjab government had earlier had to withdraw the Land-Pooling 2025 policy bowing to the anger of the farmers, but now the same policy has been presented in a new form to snatch the lands of the farmers. The farmer organizations of Punjab will not tolerate the forcible snatching of the lands of the farmers and a series of struggles will be waged against it with full force.
