Punjab CM’s OSD Rajbir Ghumman Appears Before CBI; Questioning Lasts 6 Hours

In connection with an alleged corruption case involving transfers and postings in Punjab, the Chief Minister’s OSD, Rajbir Singh Ghumman, arrived at the CBI’s Sector-30 office. He had been summoned for questioning and remained at the CBI office for approximately six hours. During this time, the CBI team posed around 40 questions to him, all of which he answered.

On Sunday, individuals close to Ghumman had also been questioned following a CBI summons. Recently, acting on the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the CBI registered an FIR against six individuals, including Ghumman. He had previously been summoned for questioning but did not appear at that time.

Ghumman had approached the Supreme Court to challenge the CBI’s actions. On October 12, the Supreme Court granted an interim stay on his arrest, following which he joined the CBI investigation. This marks the second occasion on which the CBI has questioned Ghumman.
